Gyeonggi Provincial Council to Hold 'Legislative Support Officer Workshop' in Yeoju on 20-21

The Gyeonggi Provincial Council held the 'Legislative Support Officer Workshop' over two days from the 20th to the 21st at the Sun Valley Hotel in Yeoju.

This workshop was organized to strengthen the expertise of policy support officers and to establish a smooth support system for council members' legislative activities following the establishment of the Legislative Support Officer position at the end of January.

To enhance the practical work capabilities of policy support officers, expert lectures on budget analysis theory and writing-related reading were conducted, and time was allocated for communication among policy support officers to support effective legislative activities.

On the day, Kim Gyu-chang, Vice Chairman (People Power Party, Yeoju 2), stated, "As the largest metropolitan council in the country, I hope the Gyeonggi Provincial Council can serve as a compass for the policy support officer system by jointly considering and resolving areas that need improvement." He added, "Above all, we will make multifaceted efforts to establish a one-to-one policy support officer system."

Im Chae-ho, Director of the Council Secretariat, said, "Since the Legislative Support Officer position is newly established, there will be many shortcomings and areas for improvement as the new organization settles in." He promised, "We will spare no support to ensure that policy support officers can perform their roles more stably."
