Gyeonggi Province is recruiting the first batch of trainees for export capacity-building education for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the province until April 7.
This education program is designed to support SMEs in the province to acquire essential trade knowledge and strengthen practical skills necessary for entering overseas markets.
In particular, the program focuses on providing practical assistance through a systematic curriculum covering everything from basic trade operations to the utilization of Free Trade Agreements (FTA), export-import customs clearance, and trade contracts.
The training will be conducted over four days in April, totaling 20 hours. Sessions on April 8 and 10 will be held online, while those on April 22 and 25 will take place offline at the Hope Room on the 3rd floor of the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency. Eligible participants are SMEs with headquarters, business sites, or factories located in Gyeonggi Province.
The main training schedule includes: ▲“Basic Trade Operations” (April 8), covering fundamental trade concepts, trade terminology, and frequently used documents; ▲“FTA Utilization and Practice” (April 10), learning about the overview of Free Trade Agreements and rules of origin determination; ▲“Export-Import Customs Clearance and Logistics Process” (April 22), understanding customs clearance procedures, trade transportation, and tariff refund systems; and ▲“Trade Contracts and Payment Methods” (April 25), studying essential clauses in trade contracts and payment methods.
Participants who complete more than 75% of the entire course will receive a certificate of completion. The program is free of charge. Textbooks will be provided, but distribution may end early due to first-come, first-served registration.
Park Kyung-seo, Director of the International Trade Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "The export capacity-building education provides core content necessary for practical trade operations. Especially by combining online and offline formats, we have improved accessibility to the training. We hope SMEs in the province actively participate and use this opportunity to enhance their global competitiveness."
This year, Gyeonggi Province will conduct export capacity-building education divided into intensive training to improve trade practical skills and specialized training reflecting changes in the global trade environment.
The intensive training is a 20-hour course over four days, held once a month from April to November, while the specialized training is a 5-hour course held five times from May to October.
