Choi Sang-mok, Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister as well as Minister of Strategy and Finance, stated on the 20th, "Any other issues, including my personal position, are nothing but a luxury for me at this moment and have not been considered."
In a message sent to the press corps on the same day, Acting President Choi said, "Externally, there is a trade war, and domestically, important issues directly related to people's livelihoods such as pension reform and medical reform are progressing rapidly. Therefore, I am desperately focusing on stable national administration and securing national interests."
This is interpreted as a message dismissing a media report that suggested Acting President Choi is considering a sudden resignation if the Democratic Party of Korea's impeachment motion becomes a reality.
