Applications Accepted Until April 4
Flood Prevention and Securing Evacuation Routes in Disasters
Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Shin Sang-jin) announced on the 20th that it is recruiting candidates for the "Installation Support Project for Openable Security Windows" to prevent safety accidents among vulnerable groups living in semi-basement houses.
The support targets vulnerable disaster groups living in semi-basement houses with an address in Seongnam City, including △basic livelihood security recipients △lower-income groups △multicultural families △single-parent families △households headed by youth △elderly living alone aged 65 or older.
For selected households, one openable security window with an integrated water barrier panel will be installed free of charge per household. This security window is designed to prevent flooding during water-related disasters and to secure evacuation routes in emergency situations, making it effective in preventing safety accidents.
Applicants who wish to apply must visit their local administrative welfare center by April 4. When applying, documents proving eligibility and, in the case of tenants, the consent form from the building owner (property owner) must be submitted.
After receiving applications, Seongnam City will conduct a review and select a total of 25 households, with plans to begin supporting the installation of security windows in May.
A Seongnam City official stated, “Through support for the installation of openable security windows, we will create an environment where citizens can live safely without concerns about safety accidents.”
