Yangju-si, Recruiting Participants for 'Hypertension and Diabetes Health Class'... Free Operation Starting in May

Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 20th that the Dongbu Health Living Support Center will operate the 'Hypertension and Diabetes Health Class' to prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases among citizens. This education program is aimed at individuals with chronic diseases and citizens interested in related education.

The course is designed using standardized educational materials from the Gyeonggi-do Metropolitan Education Center and combines theoretical lectures and practical sessions on hypertension, diabetes-related diseases, nutrition, and exercise.


The 2nd session of the 'Hypertension and Diabetes Health Class' will be held for two weeks from May 21 to 28, every Wednesday from 2 PM to 4 PM. The education venue is the Dongbu Health Living Support Center located on the 5th floor of the Deokjeong-dong Sports Welfare Center, and the program is free of charge.


The curriculum includes ▲ chronic disease testing and counseling ▲ theoretical education on hypertension, diabetes-related diseases, nutrition, and exercise ▲ practical sessions on blood pressure and blood sugar measurement ▲ free rental of salinity meters ▲ online education linkage for those interested. Additionally, participants who complete both sessions will receive a free fundus examination coupon linked to hospitals and clinics. The fundus examination diagnoses ophthalmic diseases caused by chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and cataracts.


Applications for the education program will be accepted starting April 1.


A Yangju City official stated, "We hope this health class will help citizens acquire accurate information about chronic diseases and practice healthy lifestyle habits."
