Paju City Signs Business Agreement to Foster Agreement-type Specialized High Schools
Establishing a Cooperative System to Nurture Region-customized Talents

On the 19th, Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 20th that it signed a business agreement for the "Agreement-type Specialized High School Development" at the city hall reception room, attended by Kim Kyung-il, Mayor of Paju City, and Jang Gye-hong, Principal of Saekyung High School.

The "Agreement-type Specialized High School," a task of the Paju City Education Development Special Zone and a key project of the Ministry of Education, is a school that realizes customized education needed by the region through agreements among local governments, education offices, companies, and specialized high schools to nurture local industry talent. Saekyung High School entered the 2025 contest for agreement-type specialized high schools with the core strategy of operating an Artificial Intelligence (AI) convergence curriculum.

This agreement was promoted to enhance mutual cooperation for the successful promotion of the Paju City Education Development Special Zone project and the selection of Saekyung High School as an agreement-type specialized high school.

The agreement includes contents such as ▲development of region-customized curricula ▲establishment of sustainable governance ▲administrative and financial support to realize customized education for the stable operation of the agreement-type specialized high school.

In addition, ▲Paju Office of Education ▲Saekyung High School ▲Paju Chamber of Commerce and Industry ▲Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gyeonggi Human Resources Development Institute ▲LG Uplus ▲PMC Co., Ltd. ▲Seonyu Industrial Complex Business Cooperative ▲Paju Publishing Culture Information National Industrial Complex Resident Companies Council ▲Paju National Industrial Complex Managers Council ▲Doowon Technical University ▲Seoyoung University ▲Dongguk University, and other local industry-academia-government sectors pledged mutual cooperation with Saekyung High School and began support.

Paju City is striving to foster agreement-type specialized high schools to establish a foundation for regional growth industries centered on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and semiconductors by nurturing core talents equipped with AI convergence technology capabilities.

Earlier, on the 14th, an agreement was reached between Saekyung High School and Dongguk University Science Gifted Education Center to create an opportunity to utilize excellent educational resources from university institutions for future talent development, including AI robot/coding education and 3D printing specialized personnel training.

Kim Kyung-il, Mayor of Paju City, said, "Agreement-type specialized high schools are an education-employment-settlement model for nurturing region-customized talents and will be the foundation for Paju City to leap into a '1 million self-sufficient city.' Through this agreement, we will actively strive to help Saekyung High School students grow into future talents who will lead Paju City."
