Wanju County to Increase Monthly Issuance Limit of 'Wanju Sarang Card' Starting Next Month

Increase from 1.3 Billion KRW to 2.3 Billion KRW

Wanju County in North Jeolla Province will significantly increase the monthly issuance amount of the 'Wanju Sarang Card' starting next month to stabilize the local economy and boost economic activity.


According to the county on the 20th, the Wanju Sarang Card is a local currency that can be used within the county, offering a 10% discount benefit upon recharge, which has received strong support from residents.

Until now, the county has issued 1.3 billion KRW worth of Wanju Sarang Cards each month (1.2 billion KRW in cards and 100 million KRW in paper vouchers), but starting next month, the issuance will increase to 2.3 billion KRW (2.25 billion KRW in cards and 50 million KRW in paper vouchers).


By expanding the monthly issuance by over 1 billion KRW, more residents are expected to benefit, and this is anticipated to have a positive impact on the local economy.


The county plans to continuously expand the number of affiliated merchants that accept the Wanju Sarang Gift Certificate, thereby promoting the circulation of funds within the area and strengthening the local economy.


County Governor Yoo Heetae stated, "Expanding the monthly issuance of the Wanju Sarang Gift Certificate is an important policy to promote local consumption and support small business owners," adding, "We will continue to enhance the convenience of using local currency and offer various benefits to implement economic revitalization policies that residents can truly feel."


Meanwhile, to boost the local economy, the county promptly provided 300,000 KRW per person as a livelihood stabilization subsidy starting January 22, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, which received strong support from small business owners and residents.
