Democratic Party Files Complaint Against Ahn Cheol-soo for Spreading False Information
Ahn Cheol-soo Rebukes: "I Hope They at Least Have Some Shame"

On the 20th, Ahn Cheol-soo, a member of the People Power Party, sharply criticized the Democratic Party's Legal Committee for filing a defamation lawsuit against him, saying, "First, Representative Lee Jae-myung should apologize for threatening Acting Chief Choi Sang-mok to 'be careful'." On the same day, Ahn posted on his social media, "I heard that Democratic Party lawmakers have filed a complaint against me. They say I touched the 'supreme dignity father,'" adding, "In a liberal democratic country, for ordinary citizens who have no such authority to order the arrest of Acting Chief Choi is typical of a suspect with four prior convictions," delivering a sharp rebuke.

Ahn Cheol-soo on Democratic Party's Defamation Complaint: "First Apologize for 'Acting Chief Choi Be Careful' Threat" On the 20th, Ahn Cheol-soo, a member of the People Power Party, responded to the Democratic Party's Legal Committee filing a defamation lawsuit against him by saying, "First, Representative Lee Jae-myung should apologize for threatening Acting Chief Choi Sang-mok to 'be careful'." Earlier, the Democratic Party's Legal Committee filed a complaint with the police for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act. The reason was that Ahn maliciously mocked Representative Lee's assault incident in Busan. In particular, the Democratic Party pointed out, "As a licensed medical doctor, Ahn is more aware than anyone of the risk and severity of the injuries sustained by Representative Lee, yet he publicly spread false information implying that Lee was 'merely scratched on the neck' and suffered only minor injuries like abrasions."

In response to the Democratic Party's complaint, Ahn said, "I hope they at least have some shame. Where do they talk about humanity?" He rebutted, "I kept silent about Lee's own suggestion to have an AI debate, but strongly criticized him for suddenly calling in a foreign scholar for a debate." He continued, "I once again tell Representative Lee that I am willing to accept the debate proposal I made last time. I will adjust the time and place to suit him," emphasizing, "If he refuses again, it will truly be cowardly."

The day before, Ahn criticized on Facebook, "(Representative Lee) backed out of the public debate he himself proposed and chose to have a conversation with a world-renowned scholar," adding, "This contrasts with President Trump, who, despite being shot and bleeding, shouted 'Fight,' and is very similar to Lee's behavior of lying as if dead after being scratched on the neck in Busan."
