Democratic Party Lawmaker Baek Hye-ryun Egged During Press Conference in Front of Constitutional Court

On the 20th, Baek Hye-ryun, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, was hit in the face with a raw egg while holding a press conference in front of the Constitutional Court in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

That morning, Democratic Party lawmakers held a press conference in front of the main gate of the Constitutional Court in Jongno-gu, Seoul, urging the swift impeachment of President Yoon Seok-yeol. During the press conference, Baek Hye-ryun was hit in the face by an egg thrown by a citizen.

After the conference, Representative Baek visited the Jongno Police Station in Seoul and filed a complaint requesting punishment for the person who threw the egg. According to Baek’s office, the citizen who threw the egg is presumed to be a conservative supporter.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency formed a dedicated investigation team led by the head of the criminal division at Jongno Police Station and began an investigation. The Jongno Police Station plans to analyze video footage and track down the thrower.
