Gachon University Establishes Korea's First International College Exclusively for Foreigners... Entrance Ceremony on the 19th

Gachon University has established the International College, the first college in Korea exclusively for international students, and held an entrance ceremony on the 19th at the university's Ye-eum Hall.

Earlier, in December of last year, Gachon University created the 'International College' to streamline the management of international students.

The International College consists of eight departments: Business Administration, Media Communication, Tourism Management, Psychology, Computer Engineering, International Studies (Liberal Major), International Studies (Korean Studies Major), and Korean Language Education.

In the first semester of this year, 580 freshmen enrolled in the International College, and approximately 400 more will enroll in the September semester.

The entrance ceremony proceeded in the order of congratulatory remarks by Gachon University President Il-yeo Lee, introduction of faculty members, welcome speech by the dean of the International College, oath-taking by freshmen, and singing of the school anthem.

During the subsequent orientation event, the following were conducted: ▲ Introduction to the school and international student programs (Gachon OT) ▲ Viewing of the school promotional video ▲ Sexual violence prevention education ▲ Education on Korean laws and regulations.

In his congratulatory remarks, Gachon University President Il-yeo Lee stated, "The International College is a ‘foreigners-only ONLY ONE’ college that will provide the best specialized services exclusively for international students, such as a dedicated professor system and counseling center." He added, "I hope international students become protagonists on the global stage beyond borders and races, and achieve infinite dreams."
