Ulju County Mayor Lee Soongul Visits Key Complaint Sites
Collects Residents' Opinions by Boarding Buses
Directly Experiences Inconveniences and Seeks Solutions
Ulsan Ulju County has begun a full-scale on-site inspection to address residents' inconveniences caused by the city bus route reorganization.
On the 20th, Ulju County Mayor Lee Soongul and related department officials visited major city bus complaint sites in areas such as Eonyang and Beomseo.
This on-site visit was carried out to directly experience the inconveniences residents are facing after the city bus route reorganization and to devise solutions.

The locations visited included the old Eonyang Terminal, Cheonsang-ri and Guyeong-ri in Beomseo-eup, and other areas with frequent complaints and high bus usage.
Starting at 7 a.m. at the old Eonyang Terminal bus stop, Mayor Lee visited the complaint sites sequentially, directly experiencing the traffic situation during commuting and school hours and listening to residents' concerns.
He then boarded operating buses to check issues such as bus intervals, transfer inconveniences, and congestion, and agreed on the need for detailed route adjustments reflecting residents' demands.
For the Ulju 03 and Ulju 04 routes, which currently operate in one direction only, it was found that bidirectional operation is necessary and that adjusting bus intervals during school hours is urgent.
In addition, there were many requests to extend the Ulju 09 and Ulju 19 routes from the existing Jungchon?Guyeong?Cheonsang circulation section to Goolhwa and Mugeo.
There were also continued requests to restore the old 123 route (Cheonsang?Seongnam-dong?Dong-gu), and voices calling for improvements to the 743 route due to irregular intervals and infrequent operation.
Based on the findings from the site inspections, Ulju County plans to actively consult with Ulsan City to adjust bus intervals and improve operations for each city bus route.
To enhance residents' transportation convenience, practical improvements such as extending the Mashil Bus routes and increasing the number of buses will also be considered. Even after this on-site visit, ongoing inspections of city bus routes and collection of residents' opinions will continue.
In the future, the county will visit the southern region directly to hear residents' opinions and prepare additional measures to improve city bus routes, focusing administrative efforts on resolving transportation imbalances between regions and improving public transportation convenience.
Mayor Lee Soongul stated, "Given the wide area of Ulju County, city buses are an important means of transportation for residents and must operate conveniently and smoothly. We will actively review the suggestions made by residents on site and do our best to make public transportation even more convenient."
