Strengthening Mutual Growth with Partnered Stores
Coupang Eats announced on the 20th that it will extend its 'no commission fee' policy for takeout order services for all partnered stores, providing mutual growth support.
This is the result of ongoing self-regulation in the delivery app sector since 2023 and discussions through the Euljiro Committee's delivery app social dialogue organization. As a result, Coupang Eats is the only major delivery app that does not charge commission fees for takeout services and provides support free of charge. With this decision, Coupang Eats' free commission fee support for takeout orders will continue until March 2026.
By using the takeout order service, restaurant owners are expected to significantly reduce their burden as there are no delivery fees and Coupang Eats supports commission fees free of charge, while also improving profitability.
Starting in April, Coupang Eats plans to implement a mutual growth fee system that will drastically reduce commission fees by up to 7.8~2% compared to the current rates. A Coupang Eats official said, "We decided to provide free commission fee support for takeout orders to ease the burden on restaurant owners struggling with the economic downturn and high inflation and to expand sales opportunities. We will also strive to create an environment where we can grow together with partnered stores by implementing the mutual growth fee system starting in April."
