1,000 Residents Join Forces for a Cleaner District

Dongjak-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Ilha) will conduct a "Spring Cleaning" from the 17th to the 28th of this month. During this period, the district will organize maintenance of vulnerable cleaning areas by neighborhood, major roads, and roadside facilities with the participation of about 1,000 local residents and related organizations.

Dongjak-gu, 'Spring Cleaning' Until the 28th of This Month Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak District, is conducting a 'Spring Joint Cleanup' with residents around Sangdo 3-dong on the 19th. Provided by Dongjak District Office.

On the 19th, the "Joint Cleaning with Residents" event was held, where Mayor Park Ilha of Dongjak-gu, neighborhood residents, and environmental officers participated to clean alleyways and side streets around Sangdo 3-dong.


The district will deploy various cleaning equipment such as water trucks, dust suction vehicles, and street sweepers more than three times daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on 21 main routes including Dongjak-daero and Manyang-ro.


At 84 village bus stops, the interior and exterior, waiting chairs, and heating/cooling units will be disinfected, and advertisements and illegal stickers will be removed. Additionally, parks, sidewalks, central green zones, and public parking lots will be cleaned, and roadside rainwater drains, underground passages, overpasses, subway station facilities, transformer boxes, and public phone booths will be washed and repaired. A clean task force will also operate on weekends to establish a cleaning management system including monitoring illegal dumping.


Mayor Park Ilha stated, "We will continue to implement various cleaning measures so that residents can live comfortably anywhere in the district."
