Siheung-si Selected as an Excellent Institution in Public Data Provision and Data-Driven Administration Evaluation

Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 20th that it received the highest rating of "Excellent" in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's "2024 Public Data Provision Operation Status Evaluation" and "Data-Driven Administration Status Inspection Evaluation."

This evaluation was conducted on 679 institutions including central administrative agencies, local governments, and public institutions. The Public Data Provision Operation Status Evaluation assessed three areas: ▲public data openness and utilization ▲quality ▲management system. The Data-Driven Administration Status Inspection Evaluation assessed three areas: ▲analysis and utilization ▲sharing ▲management system.

The city was recognized not only for the openness and quality management of public data but also for its efforts to analyze and improve public data with low private sector utilization, leading to its selection as an excellent institution for two consecutive years in the "Public Data Provision Operation Status Evaluation." It was also chosen as an excellent institution for four consecutive years in the "Data-Driven Administration Status Inspection Evaluation."

The city explained that the high evaluation was due to its use of analysis results incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) and big data analysis techniques in various fields such as site analysis for the installation of Ainuri Care Centers and characteristics of single-person households, as well as providing the "Siheung Data Zoom" service, an integrated administrative data system that enhances citizen convenience.

Kang Hee-tak, head of the Information and Communication Division of Siheung City, said, "We will continue to lead data-driven smart administrative policies by improving the quality and utilization of public data."
