In particular, 40 fatalities occurred during the spring (March to May), accounting for 19.4% of all traffic accident deaths in the same period, a higher proportion than in other seasons. Accident-prone areas included seven locations in Gwangju and five in Jeonnam. In Gwangju, six accidents occurred near Sangmu Market in Ssangchon-dong, Seo-gu, and in Jeonnam, five accidents occurred near Jorye Intersection in Suncheon, resulting in serious injuries or fatalities.
