Commendations for Contributors to Local Industry Development
Joo Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City, attended the ‘52nd Commerce Day’ ceremony on the 19th to encourage the efforts of those working in the commerce industry and to congratulate those who contributed to the development of the local industry.

About 120 people from various sectors, including Lee Hong-gyun, Chairman of the Gyeonggi Eastern Chamber of Commerce, and Jo Seong-dae, Chairman of the Namyangju City Council, attended the event, which included a breakfast lecture, ceremony, and award presentation.
At the breakfast lecture forum, Professor Oh Tae-min, known as a pioneer in the fields of Bitcoin and blockchain, gave a lecture titled ‘Trump, Stablecoins, and Payment Systems,’ sharing the latest trends in the international economy and changes in digital financial technology.
During the subsequent ceremony, Mayor Joo Gwang-deok encouraged businesspeople who contributed to the development of the local economy and presented awards, with various institutions giving commendations.
In his congratulatory speech, Mayor Joo said, “Despite the difficult economic situation, I deeply respect and thank the entrepreneurs who have turned crises into opportunities through relentless effort and passion, dedicating themselves not only to the local economy but also to the development of South Korea’s economy. If we work together with companies in the process of transforming Namyangju into a future-oriented advanced industrial city with the goal of realizing ‘Sangsang More Than Ever Namyangju,’ we can achieve continuous growth through mutual cooperation.”
Meanwhile, as part of its industry-government-academia cooperation support projects, the city operates △Breakfast Lecture Forum △Youth Entrepreneurs Future Forum △CEO Academy Education to actively support entrepreneurs in strengthening their capabilities and realizing their visions.
