This project involves replacing old communal gas exhaust ducts in Ulsan apartments with individual exhaust ducts to prevent gas accidents and block boiler carbon monoxide poisoning incidents, prioritizing the safety of vulnerable households.
As part of its social contribution activities, S-OIL donated 35 million KRW to the Ulsan Social Welfare Council, and Kyungdong City Gas will carry out the exhaust duct replacement work in cooperation with the Ulsan Branch of Korea Gas Safety Corporation.
Communal gas exhaust ducts are shared by multiple households, and when these ducts become outdated, there is a greater risk of exhaust gas from gas boilers leaking indoors due to duct damage, which can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning.
Additionally, individual exhaust ducts make safety inspections easier, allowing risk factors to be identified or improved, and users can independently check and inspect them, greatly enhancing safety prevention effects.
Park Sunghoon, Executive Director of S-OIL who attended the event, said, "It is very meaningful to contribute to the prevention of gas accidents and the enhancement of safety activities for Ulsan residents through this project," adding, "We will continue to carry out various social contribution activities to protect the safety of the local community in the future."
