Gwangmyeong City "Forklift, Wallpaper Technician, Drone... Start Your Second Act with Certifications"

Recruitment of Students for Customized Professional Workforce Training for Middle-aged Individuals
Practical Training Focused on Job Skills... Opportunity to Obtain National Certification

Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province is recruiting students for the 'Customized Professional Workforce Training Course' for middle-aged individuals aged 50 to 64 in the district from the 24th of this month until the 2nd of next month.

As part of vocational skill development education, this program offers three courses: ▲Drone (Unmanned Multicopter Class 1) ▲Forklift under 3 tons (small heavy equipment) ▲Wallpapering technician. The number of selected participants is ▲10 for the drone course ▲20 for the forklift course ▲16 for the wallpapering technician course.


Applicants must be middle-aged individuals aged 50 to 64 (born between 1960 and 1975) residing in Gwangmyeong City according to their resident registration. If the quota is not filled, those aged 40 to 49 may also apply.


The drone course provides a 20% subsidy on the tuition fee. For the forklift and wallpapering technician courses, the tuition fee will be refunded upon completion. Graduates of the drone and wallpapering technician courses can obtain national certification after passing an exam. Interested individuals can download the application form from the announcement board on the Gwangmyeong City website, fill it out, and submit it in person to the City Job Creation Division.


Previously, the 'Air Conditioner Cleaning Expert' course, which the city opened last month, attracted high interest with 49 applicants for 20 available spots.


Lee Kyung-mi, head of the Job Creation Division in Gwangmyeong City, said, "We hope this training will help middle-aged individuals with reemployment and entrepreneurship," adding, "We will actively support the middle-aged population to make a fresh start."
