People Power Party: "Lee, Have You Lost Reason Due to Judicial Risks... Choi Must Apologize for 'Be Careful' Remark"

The People Power Party demanded that Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, retract his statement and apologize after he said to Choi Sang-mok, Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, "I hope you take care of yourself."

Shin Dong-wook, chief spokesperson for the People Power Party, introduced Lee's remarks in a statement on the 19th and criticized, "It seems the leader has lost his composure as his judicial risk is about to materialize ahead of his own trial."

Earlier, at the Supreme Council meeting held in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, Lee referred to Acting Prime Minister Choi, who has not appointed constitutional court justices despite the Constitutional Court's decision, saying, "He could be arrested as a flagrant offender of dereliction of duty, so I hope he takes care of himself."

Spokesperson Shin defined the remark as 'intimidation' and pointed out, "The leader of a political party threatening the head of the executive branch with impeachment and warning him to 'take care' is an excessive rampage that only provokes public anger and conflict." He added, "I hope Lee regains his composure and reflects on himself," and urged, "He should immediately retract the statement and apologize to the public even at this late stage."
