They are not stopping at just providing a meal for 1,000 won. This time, Gwangsan-gu in Gwangju has launched a '1,000-Won Livelihood Experiment.'
Park Byungkyu, mayor of Gwangsan District, Gwangju, is personally serving meals to senior citizens at 'Cheonwonhankki Cheomdan Branch' located in Cheomdan 2-dong, Gwangsan District, Gwangju, on December 24 last year. Provided by Gwangsan District, Gwangju
Gwangsan-gu announced that from the 19th to the 18th of next month, it will hold a public contest for livelihood policies under the subtitle, 'I wish Gwangsan-gu would ○○○ with 1,000 won.' This contest aims to gather ideas that can provide practical help to citizens with just 1,000 won, similar to the district’s signature project, '1,000-Won Meal.'
The contest is open to ideas in the following areas: ▲Revitalization of local businesses ▲Promotion of consumption ▲Support for small business owners ▲Support for vulnerable groups. Anyone residing in Gwangsan-gu or affiliated with a local institution or organization can participate. Interested citizens can download the proposal form from the Gwangsan-gu website and submit their ideas via the National Idea Platform, email, fax, mail, or by visiting a local administrative welfare center. The district will review the feasibility and effectiveness of the submitted proposals, select outstanding ideas, and present certificates and prizes. The results will be announced on the Gwangsan-gu website in June.
Park Byungkyu, the head of the district office, said, "Just as the 1,000-won meal has been a great support for citizens, we will once again create policies that enhance the value of 1,000 won," adding, "I hope your creative ideas will help improve livelihoods and become an opportunity to transform our community."
