Relay Busking at Hwangryonggang Ecological Trail and Local Alleys
Applications Open Until the 3rd of Next Month
From Hwangryonggang Ecological Trail to local alley businesses, Gwangsan-gu in Gwangju is seeking artists to perform on the streets.
On the 19th, Gwangsan-gu announced that it is recruiting groups to participate in the "Gwangsan Relay Busking" for local artists until the 3rd of next month.
This project aims to help local artists continue their creative activities and provide residents with opportunities to enjoy performances in their daily lives. The goal is to offer various urban locations as stages for artists who have seen their performance opportunities decrease due to the economic downturn.
Eligible applicants are local artists or groups capable of performing street shows for at least one hour in Gwangsan-gu. To apply, download the application form from the Gwangsan-gu website's notices section, fill it out, and submit it via email. Selected teams will perform in a relay format from May to July at 30 locations along the Hwangryonggang Ecological Trail, as well as in urban parks and alley business districts throughout Gwangsan-gu. The district also plans to continue the performances in the second half of the year.
An official from the district said, "We hope this project will allow local artists to continue their creative activities and give citizens more opportunities to experience culture and art in every corner of their neighborhoods."
