Damyang County and Gwangju Nam-gu Strengthen Sister City Ties through Hometown Love Donation Damyang County in Jeonnam Province and Nam District in Gwangju, which are sister cities, are supporting each other and strengthening solidarity through hometown love donations. Damyang County in Jeollanam-do and its sister city, Nam-gu District of Gwangju, supported each other through the Hometown Love Donation program.


This donation involved 53 participants from Damyang County, including Acting County Governor Jeong Gwangseon, staff from the Planning and Budget Office, the Participation and Communication Office, and the Investment Promotion Team, as well as 53 public officials from Nam-gu District Office in Gwangju, strengthening the bond between the sister cities. The county also plans to promote participation in mutual donations by village leaders, residents' councils, and social organizations to further vitalize the Hometown Love Donation program.


Acting County Governor Jeong Gwangseon stated, "The mutual donation between Damyang County and our sister city, Nam-gu District of Gwangju, will strengthen the friendship between our cities and greatly help foster a culture of giving. We look forward to continued exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields."


Meanwhile, Damyang County and Nam-gu District of Gwangju signed a sister city agreement in May 2023 and have since continued exchanges in various fields, including economy, culture, tourism, and sports, based on mutual respect and trust.
