LG CNS Develops Warehouse Automation Logistics Robot... Launching into North American Market

Participation in the Logistics Automation Exhibition 'Promat 2025'
Unveiling of the Logistics Robot '3D Mobile Shuttle'
Showcasing Smart Logistics Solutions

LG CNS is entering the North American logistics automation market with its warehouse automation logistics robot, the '3D Mobile Shuttle.'

LG CNS announced on the 19th that it has participated in 'Promat 2025,' the world's largest logistics automation exhibition currently being held at McCormick Place in Chicago, USA, starting from the 17th (local time). At this exhibition, which runs until the 20th, LG CNS showcased its warehouse automation logistics robot, the 3D Mobile Shuttle, along with smart logistics solutions.

The 3D Mobile Shuttle is an automated robot that transports and stores items within warehouse shelves using hundreds of shuttle robots. Existing equipment was limited to moving only left and right, restricting item movement, and required shelves in every aisle, which was inefficient in space utilization. The 3D Mobile Shuttle can move in four directions?up, down, left, and right?making it efficient for transporting and storing items. LG CNS applied mathematical optimization technology to the 3D Mobile Shuttle, which reportedly can reduce warehouse usage area by more than 20%.

LG CNS emphasized that the 3D Mobile Shuttle is designed to safely transport not only general cargo but also cylindrical cargo such as automobile batteries. Companies can choose the type and material of shuttle robots when adopting the 3D Mobile Shuttle. For example, battery factories can apply flame-retardant materials to prevent fires. Additionally, it has obtained UL certification, a mandatory safety standard for electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment in the United States.

Furthermore, LG CNS introduced a smart logistics solution that can integrate and control logistics automation equipment and heterogeneous robots. This solution supports integrated control functions such as ▲real-time monitoring and remote control of automation equipment ▲optimal route management for autonomous mobile robots ▲traffic management ▲monitoring. Through this, customers can effectively manage the volume of goods in logistics warehouses and reduce logistics costs and operation time.

This solution collects data from logistics automation equipment and robots in real time and analyzes it using artificial intelligence (AI). LG CNS emphasized that this enables fault diagnosis and predictive maintenance, allowing uninterrupted operation of logistics warehouses.

Lee Junho, General Manager (Executive Director) of LG CNS Smart Logistics & City Business Division, said, "LG CNS is developing various logistics robots to further strengthen its smart logistics capabilities. We will provide customized logistics robots and smart logistics solutions for North American customers to help them successfully implement logistics automation."

Meanwhile, at this exhibition, LG CNS operated a joint booth with Bear Robotics, a U.S.-based robotics company specializing in autonomous mobile robots and robot control solutions supporting factory logistics linkage, and Tira Robotics, a smart factory solution specialist and partner in heavy cargo transfer automation business.
