Support Provided to 153 Communities
Damyang County is promoting the "Village Community Project," selecting and supporting 153 communities through initiatives such as creating village communities, Clean Jeonnam Excellent Village, and Stepping Stone Project. Provided by Damyang County
Damyang County in Jeollanam-do is implementing various village community support projects to address population decline.
According to the county on the 18th, a total of 153 communities will receive support this year through the "Village Community Building Contest Project" and the "Clean Jeonnam Best Village Support Project" promoted by Jeollanam-do, as well as the "Didimdol Project" independently operated by Damyang County.
In the "Village Community Building Contest Project," 24 communities have been selected to receive a total of 93 million KRW, while the "Clean Jeonnam Best Village Support Project" will provide 620 million KRW to 124 villages, and the "Didimdol Project" will allocate 25 million KRW to five communities. Each of these projects focuses on solving local issues through voluntary participation of residents and revitalizing community culture.
A county official stated, "Through these village community support projects, we hope to restore interaction and a sense of community among residents, and contribute to the development of the local society. We will do our utmost to actively support the selected communities so they can successfully carry out their projects."
Meanwhile, the Damyang County Grassroots Community Support Center plans to provide preliminary education for the communities selected in the Village Community Building Contest Project on the 20th, and will continue to support the communities to ensure smooth project implementation.
