Gwangju and Jeonnam to Tackle Fine Dust with 38.5 Billion Won A view of the Yeongsangang River Basin Environmental Office.

According to the Environmental Office on the 18th, fine dust reduction projects will be carried out in the transportation, daily life, and business sectors. For the transportation sector, 33.6 billion KRW will be invested in early scrapping of old vehicles, installation of reduction devices, and the distribution of electric excavators and hydrogen forklifts. Notably, starting this year, grade 5 gasoline and gas vehicles will also be eligible for early scrapping. If an old diesel school vehicle is scrapped and replaced with an LPG vehicle, a subsidy of 3 million KRW per vehicle will be provided.

For the daily life sector, 2.6 billion KRW has been allocated for the distribution of eco-friendly boilers and support for the installation of gas heat pump (GHP) reduction devices. In particular, the budget for GHP reduction devices has been expanded to 1.8 billion KRW, three times higher than the previous year. For the business sector, 2.4 billion KRW will be provided for air pollutant monitoring projects, such as the installation of IoT measuring devices.

Kim Youngwoo, head of the office, said, "We will do our best to ensure the budget is executed effectively so that the public can truly feel the impact."
