Gokseong-gun, South Jeolla Province (Governor Cho Sangrae), announced on the 18th that it had signed a business agreement with Jeonnam Science University on the 14th to successfully promote the Regional Innovation System & Education (RISE) project.
RISE (Regional Innovation System & Education) is a project in which local governments and universities cooperate to establish and support a virtuous cycle structure encompassing 'talent development-employment/entrepreneurship-settlement' to overcome the joint crisis faced by the region and universities. The project will be supported for five years starting this year.
Through the agreement, the county and the university will actively promote initiatives such as ▲Leading specialized university for global region-specific talent development ▲Vocational education hub center ▲Lifelong education hub center ▲Regional university signature projects.
An official from the county said, "We believe this agreement is a great opportunity to establish a system for cooperation and communication with Jeonnam Science University," adding, "We hope to successfully promote the project and make it a model case for sustainable co-growth between Gokseong-gun and Jeonnam Science University."
