3-Minute Curry and Jjajang Also Rise... Ottogi's Average Price Increase of 13.6%

Pepper and Vinegar Prices Also Increased

Ottogi announced on the 18th that it will raise the prices of its 3-minute curry and jjajang products sold at convenience stores by about 13.6% starting from the 1st of next month.


The prices of '3-minute Curry (200g) Mild and Spicy' and '3-minute Beef Jjajang (200g)' will increase from 2,200 won to 2,500 won. 'Ottogi Strawberry Jam (300g)' will rise from 6,000 won to 6,600 won, and 'Ottogi Honey Mustard Sauce (265g)', 'Ottogi Sesame Dressing (245g)', and 'Ottogi Horseradish (250g)' will also increase by 400 to 500 won each.

Ottogi explained that it had planned to raise prices in February but decided to increase them on the 1st of next month after consultations with convenience stores. The prices of Ottogi curry and jjajang powders and soups sold at convenience stores were raised by about 12% last month, and the prices of seven types of cup rice and the old-style beef bone soup product (500g) were increased by about 12.5 to 20%.


Since the end of last month, Ottogi has also raised prices for pepper, vinegar, and starch syrup supplied to large supermarkets. The price of 'Ottogi Ground Black Pepper (100g)' increased from 7,180 won to 7,950 won, and 'Ottogi Brewed Vinegar (900ml)' rose from 1,700 won to 1,880 won. 'Ottogi Old-fashioned Starch Syrup (1.2kg)' went up from 4,680 won to 5,180 won.


Meanwhile, in August of last year, Ottogi raised the prices of 24 products sold at large supermarkets and convenience stores, including 3-minute curry and jjajang, cream and beef soups, and ketchup (product name: Kechap), by an average of 10%.
