On the 17th (local time), NBC News in the United States released the results of a poll conducted from the 7th to the 11th, surveying 1,000 voters.

According to the poll, when asked "Which side does President Trump sympathize with more?" 49% answered "Russia." Only 8% chose Ukraine, and 40% responded "neither side."

On the other hand, when asked "Which side do you sympathize with more, Russia or Ukraine?" 61% of the total respondents chose "Ukraine." Only 2% answered Russia.

A representative from Hart Research, which conducted the poll, told NBC, "I cannot recall a time when public opinion and the public’s view of the president have clashed so sharply over which country they align with more."

Among all respondents, 46% and 41% viewed President Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukraine positively, respectively. In contrast, only 3% and 6% viewed President Vladimir Putin and Russia positively.

By political party, 69% of Democratic supporters evaluated Ukraine positively, while only 19% of Republicans viewed Ukraine positively.

Compared to NBC’s November 2023 survey, the positive evaluation among Democratic supporters increased slightly from 65% to 69%, and negative evaluations decreased from 12% to 8%, widening the gap between the two responses to 61%. Among Republicans, positive evaluations decreased (27%→19%) and negative evaluations increased (37%→46%), strengthening the negative sentiment.
