"Promotion to Encourage County Residents to Use the Stores"
Hampyeong County in South Jeolla Province announced on the 17th that it will be recruiting new 'Good Price Stores for 2025' to alleviate the financial burden on ordinary citizens and promote price stability.
The eligible applicants are individual or corporate business owners who operate personal service businesses closely related to daily life and sell goods or services directly to county residents on a retail basis. However, franchise businesses or establishments with overdue local taxes are not eligible to apply.
Businesses wishing to apply can visit the Population and Economy Division at Hampyeong County Office in person or submit their application via email. Required documents include the application form, consent for the use of personal information, a copy of the business registration certificate, a certificate of full payment of local taxes, and a photo of the menu price list.
To be selected as a Good Price Store, applicants must score at least 40 points in total across evaluation items such as price (25 points) and hygiene/cleanliness (25 points). In particular, a higher score can be achieved in the price category by maintaining prices lower than the average in neighboring commercial areas.
Selected stores will receive differentiated incentives by business type, such as support for kitchenware and garbage bags. Stores designated as Good Price Stores must display their designation on their signboards and menus, and will undergo regular or occasional re-evaluations after one year for continuous quality management. However, if the designation criteria are not met or administrative sanctions are imposed, the designation may be revoked.
The application period is open until the 24th. The county plans to strengthen promotion of the Good Price Store program through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the county website, and online platforms such as Kakao Map and Naver Map. In addition, the county will encourage residents to use these stores by operating 'Good Price Store Utilization Day' and running promotional booths in conjunction with major local festivals such as the Hampyeong Butterfly Festival and the Korea Chrysanthemum Festival.
County Governor Lee Sangik stated, "Through this recruitment of Good Price Stores, we will actively support the provision of reasonably priced services to residents and contribute to revitalizing the local economy," adding, "We hope for the interest and participation of many business owners in the county."
