Customized Transfer of Leading Farms' Know-how
Goheung County in Jeollanam-do (Goheung County Governor) announced on the 17th that on the 14th, it selected and appointed 11 leading farms designated as learning centers for urban residents returning to farming and fishing villages.
The agricultural and fishery learning centers provide urban residents and new returnees who wish to move to Goheung County with opportunities to experience farming, alleviating the burden of starting agriculture. They also operate small groups where participants can learn crop cultivation methods and farming techniques, helping to attract talented individuals and support their stable settlement.

This program matches leading farms with agricultural know-how and technology with returnees to Goheung at a ratio of 1 to 10, providing field-oriented education where participants can directly learn cultivation techniques for crops of interest.
Through this, the program supports successful settlement in rural areas. Leading farms were selected for 11 crops (yuzu, Korean beef, peach, cucumber, kiwifruit, passion fruit, salad vegetables, pumpkin, ginger, etc.), and the final 11 teams of trainees wishing to learn about these crops were chosen.
The training is conducted over eight months from March to October, with a flexible schedule considering the farmers' time, totaling 10 sessions (4 hours per session, total 40 hours). The training is focused on both theory and practice on site, and the full 40 hours of training are officially recognized.
A county official stated, "The role of agricultural and fishery learning centers is more important than ever for stable settlement and successful return to rural life," adding, "This will be a valuable opportunity for trainees not only to acquire skills but also to expand and maintain their personal networks."
