Incheon Newlyweds' 'Cheonwon Housing' Application Competition Rate 7.3 to 1... Recruiting 500 Households

Announcement on June 5, Move-in Begins in July

Incheon City’s 'Cheonwon Housing,' which is supplied at a daily rent of 1,000 won (30,000 won per month) for homeless newlyweds and others, recorded a high competition rate of over 7 to 1 for residency.


According to the city on the 17th, a total of 3,681 households applied for 500 units during the preliminary resident recruitment for Cheonwon Housing (purchased rental) from the 6th to the 14th, resulting in a competition rate of 7.36 to 1. On the first day of application, the 6th, 628 households applied, showing strong public interest.


Cheonwon Housing is available to homeless newlyweds (within 7 years of marriage registration), prospective newlyweds, and single-parent families, with a rental period initially set at 2 years and a maximum of up to 6 years. Households with newborns are given first priority, newlyweds with children second priority, and newlyweds without children third priority. If competition occurs within the same priority, the final residency order is determined through a point system.

Incheon City plans to announce the final residents on June 5 through the Incheon Urban Corporation website after investigating the income and assets of the applicant households. Following this, the housing viewing, designation, and contract procedures will take place, with move-in starting from July.


Additionally, recruitment for Jeonse rental Cheonwon Housing residents (500 units) is planned to be conducted by next month at the latest. Specific schedules and application requirements will be announced through the websites of Incheon City and Incheon Urban Corporation. For Jeonse rental housing, applicants select apartments or villas with a dedicated area of 85㎡ or less directly from the market, and Incheon Urban Corporation signs a Jeonse contract with the landlord before supplying the housing.


Yoo Jeong-bok, Mayor of Incheon, said, "Through this resident recruitment, we were able to understand what newlyweds need," and added, "We will continue to implement effective housing policies to do our best to reduce the housing burden on citizens."
