"Recognizing the Seriousness of the Cast Member Controversy"
The MBC entertainment program 'Good Day' announced that it will edit out actor Kim Soo-hyun's appearance segments.
On the 17th, the 'Good Day' production team stated in a press release, "We recognize the seriousness of the controversy surrounding the cast member and are continuing production while prioritizing viewer reactions," adding, "The production team has decided to edit out Kim Soo-hyun's appearance as much as possible."
They continued, "As long as the controversy regarding the cast member continues, we believe that the purpose of 'Good Day,' which started with good intentions, the sincere feelings of the cast members who participated, and the love and support from viewers may continue to be damaged."
Although there were reports that Kim Soo-hyun would not attend the recording of 'Good Day' held on the 13th, he ultimately participated in the recording and faced strong protests from viewers. In the 5th episode of 'Good Day' aired on the 16th, Kim Soo-hyun's individual appearance segments were edited out, but he appeared in group shots with the other cast members.
The production team explained, "The 5th episode aired yesterday (16th) was a version that was urgently edited to remove Kim Soo-hyun's appearance. The broadcast duration was about 10 minutes shorter than the original episode, and the details were insufficient."
The production team added, "Kim Soo-hyun's agency planned to make a statement next week (as of March 13), and securing the cast member's schedule after that date was difficult, so after much deliberation, we had no choice but to proceed with the recording. After careful discussion, the production team conducted the recording and sketch filming to avoid overlapping with other cast members as much as possible, keeping in mind the deletion of his segments."

They also stated, "The production team has decided to edit out Kim Soo-hyun's appearance as much as possible. The individual recording process of the cast member on March 13 will not be broadcast."
Kim Soo-hyun is under suspicion of having dated the late Kim Sae-ron, who was a minor at the time, for several years. According to the YouTube channel 'Garosero Research Institute (Gaseyeon),' Kim Sae-ron's bereaved family claims that the deceased dated Kim Soo-hyun for six years starting from when she was 15 years old. Gaseyeon has been continuously presenting evidence supporting the claim that the two were in a relationship.
Kim Soo-hyun's side has denied the claim that they dated while Kim Sae-ron was a minor. Initially denying the relationship, the agency changed its stance, stating, "Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron dated from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020, after Kim Sae-ron became an adult. It is not true that Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor."
The agency also emphasized that the suspicion that Kim Soo-hyun ignored Kim Sae-ron's financial issues is not true. The agency explained, "At that time, Gold Medalist repaid all remaining debts that Kim Sae-ron could not handle personally. After the drunk driving incident, Gold Medalist worked with Kim Sae-ron to resolve various penalties related to her acting activities and compensation for merchants affected by the drunk driving incident."
