"Collected Interesting Materials About Hangul"... 'National Hangeul Museum Archive' Renovated

The National Hangeul Museum changed the name of its existing ‘Digital Hangeul Museum’ to ‘National Hangeul Museum Archive’ and newly reorganized it as an online archive where users can explore Hangeul culture and knowledge based on Hangeul materials. The archive’s search functions and user interface have also been improved.

In particular, interesting reading materials and visual content related to the history and culture of Hangeul have been added. The ‘Hangeul Package’ menu consists of ‘Hangeul Stories,’ ‘Thematic Collections,’ ‘Donated Materials Introduction,’ ‘100 Major Hangeul Cultural Heritages,’ and ‘Collection Stories.’ ‘Hangeul Stories’ contains informative readings introducing the principles of Hangeul’s creation as well as the history and culture Hangeul has traversed.

‘Thematic Collections’ gathers archive materials under specialized themes unique to the National Hangeul Museum, and ‘Donated Materials Introduction’ includes guide videos and materials about precious donated items.

In ‘Archive’ and ‘Oral Records,’ the museum provides video and book formats of records of the museum’s activities and oral histories of over 60 individuals who have collected Hangeul materials domestically and internationally and remember the history of Hangeul culture.

Kang Jeong-won, director of the National Hangeul Museum, stated, “Through the National Hangeul Museum Archive, we support everyone to enjoy Hangeul cultural resources without restrictions of time and space, and we will do our best to continuously expand materials and improve services so that Hangeul can be more widely utilized as a global cultural asset.”
