Award to Be Presented at "2025 Medical Korea" Event at COEX on March 20
Pusan National University (President Choi Jaewon) announced on March 17 that Professor Chae Han of the Department of Korean Medicine has been selected as a distinguished contributor to global healthcare and will receive a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare at the "2025 Medical Korea" event to be held at COEX in Seoul on March 20.
Professor Chae Han was recognized for his contributions to revitalizing diplomatic relations between Korea and Turkmenistan through an international cooperation project in Korean medicine in Central Asia (Turkmenistan).
Pusan National University is currently working with the Turkmenistan government (Ministry of Health and Medical Industry) and the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development to establish the "Turkmenistan Center for Korean Medicine." This is the first international cooperation (ODA) project in the field of Korean medicine, aiming to build a Korean medicine ecosystem in the recipient country. The project systematically supports clinical practice in Korean medicine, local physician training, and the development of the traditional herbal medicine industry.
Professor Chae Han was selected as an award recipient in recognition of his outstanding achievements in leading this international cooperation project in Central Asia, contributing to the enhancement of diplomatic relations between Korea and Turkmenistan, as well as the globalization of Korean medicine.
