"Establishing a Foundation for Youth Employment"
Jeongeup City in North Jeolla Province is recruiting participants for the 'Youth Startup Support Project' to support local youth entrepreneurship until the 28th.
According to the city on the 17th, this project has been promoted since 2022 to help young entrepreneurs establish a foundation for self-reliance and strengthen their entrepreneurial capabilities. This year marks its fourth year.
The initiative also aims to provide practical assistance to young people aspiring to start businesses and to support the creation of sustainable youth jobs in the region.
The city will select 10 participants. Eligible applicants are young people aged 18 to 45 who reside in Jeongeup as of the announcement date and are either prospective entrepreneurs wishing to start a business in the area or early-stage entrepreneurs within one year of starting their business. Selected youth entrepreneurs must complete the ‘Youth Startup Capacity Building Consulting’ program and will receive up to 15 million KRW in startup funds over a maximum of three years.
Applicants must prepare the required documents and visit the Job and Economy Division at City Hall in person during the application period to apply. Details on excluded business types and specific requirements can be found in the announcement on the city’s website.
Mayor Lee Haksoo said, “We hope for the interest and participation of many capable young people who dream of starting their own businesses,” and added, “Through the Youth Startup Support Project, we will establish a sustainable foundation for youth employment and contribute to revitalizing the local economy.”
