Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) will operate the ‘Youth Economy ETF Financial Education’ in March and the ‘Neet Company Yongsan Branch 2nd Term’ in April at Yongsan Youth Jium to support the growth of young people.

Yongsan Cheongnyeon Jium Operates Financial Education and Customized Programs for NEETs Provided by Yongsan-gu.

Yongsan Youth Jium is a representative youth community space in Yongsan-gu that provides customized content for young people to help their internal growth and supports social connections as a network.

On the 18th and 25th of this month, Yongsan Youth Jium and the Seoul Metropolitan Youth Center will collaborate to conduct the ‘Youth Economy ETF Financial Education.’ This education program is designed to provide young people with basic knowledge about ETF (Exchange-Traded Fund) investment and help them build an economic foundation. ETFs are classified as relatively stable assets and are attracting attention as a suitable investment method for young people. The education will be conducted in cooperation with Hana Securities Overseas Sales Office.

The education will be held twice at 7 p.m. on March 18 and 25, recruiting 20 participants per session. Young people who wish to attend can apply on the Youth Jium blog by noon on March 17.

From April 23 to July 12, the ‘Neet Company Yongsan Branch 2nd Term’ will be operated. Neet Company is a virtual company where young people in a NEET (a newly coined term referring to those who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training) status can “go to work,” providing job experience and helping to form a sense of belonging and camaraderie. Following the successful operation of the 1st term last year, it will continue this year as well. The 1st term last year produced a total of five employment successes.

Employees attend online daily for 12 weeks to restore their daily rhythm. Once a week, they must physically go to Yongsan Youth Jium. During the employment period, they engage in common tasks, run in-house clubs, participate in Yongsan tours, and accumulate various job experiences through career lectures and sharing workshops by professional instructors and 1st term seniors. After the program ends, an exhibition of activity results and a closing ceremony will be held.

The recruitment target is young people aged 19 to 39 in a NEET status, with 30 spots available. Applications can be submitted from the 17th of this month to April 13 via the Yongsan-gu Office website - Yongsan News - Announcements or the Yongsan Youth Jium blog.

District Mayor Park Hee-young said, “I hope this program will be an opportunity for young people to regain vitality in their daily lives and gain substantial experience,” adding, “We will continue to discover various policies in cooperation with many organizations so that young people can enjoy a happy life.”
