Hapcheon County Accepts Applications for 2025 Forestry Direct Payment Program

Apply in Person at the Town or Township Office for the Location of the Forest Area

Hapcheon County, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 17th that applications for the 2025 Forestry and Forest Public Direct Payment Program will be accepted until April 30.


The Forestry Direct Payment Program is a system that provides direct payments to those engaged in forestry, such as producing forest products or planting and cultivating trees in mountainous areas, in order to enhance the public benefits of forests and stabilize the income of forestry workers.

For the production of forest products, applicants must have been engaged in the forest product production business for at least one year (at least 60 days per year) in a forest area registered as a forestry management entity between April 1, 2019 and September 30, 2022, and must meet certain conditions such as annual forest product sales of at least KRW 1.2 million.


For silviculture, applicants must have obtained approval for a forest management plan and have been engaged in silviculture for at least one year (at least 60 days per year) in a forest area registered as a forestry management entity during the same period, and must have at least 3 hectares of silviculture achievements over the past 10 years, among other qualifications.


Online applications will be accepted until March 31, and in-person applications can be submitted by visiting the town or township office responsible for the location of the forest area from April 1 to April 30 and submitting a registration application form.


Bae Kilwoo, head of the Forestry Division, stated, "The Forestry Direct Payment Program contributes to the income stability of small-scale forestry households and revitalizes forest management," adding, "We will make active efforts to further increase the income of forestry workers and maximize the public value of forests by promoting population growth in mountain villages and revitalizing the local economy."
