Hampyeong County in Jeonnam announced on the 16th that it has begun distributing the Farmer and Fisher Public Benefit Allowance, worth 600,000 KRW per household, to encourage local farmers and fishers in their agricultural activities.
The Farmer and Fisher Public Benefit Allowance can be collected at the local agricultural cooperative offices until the 28th. Hampyeong County accepted applications for the allowance from January 16 to February 7, and after a review committee meeting on the 7th of this month, 7,801 out of a total of 8,199 applicants were selected as eligible recipients.
Recipients must bring identification and collect the allowance in person. However, if personal collection is difficult due to illness or injury, a proxy can collect the allowance by submitting a proxy receipt confirmation form.
The main distribution period for the public benefit allowance is until the 28th. If not collected within this period, it can be received at the local agricultural cooperative offices until the end of June. After that, recipients can collect the allowance at the industrial team of the township or town office where they reside until the end of November.
Notably, the entire 600,000 KRW allowance will be provided in Hampyeong Love Gift Certificates, which is expected to promote local consumption and contribute to the revitalization of the local economy by fostering mutual growth between farmers, fishers, and small business owners.
Lee Sangik, the mayor of Hampyeong County, stated, "We expect that the distribution of the Farmer and Fisher Public Benefit Allowance will prevent outflow of local funds and contribute to increasing the income of local farmers and small business owners. We will continue to develop various support policies to ensure the economic stability of farmers and fishers and to revitalize the local economy."
