Several Snakes Coiled Inside Air Conditioner
Snake Removal Expert's Capture Video Goes Viral on Social Media
A story about an Indian man who was shocked to find several snakes writhing inside an air conditioner he hadn’t used for a long time has become a hot topic.
According to local media including the Indian Express on the 15th (local time), Sathyanarayana, a man living in Visakhapatnam, India, discovered several snakes after turning on an air conditioner that hadn’t been used for a long time. Inside the air conditioner were adult snakes and eight baby snakes, all coiled up.

Startled by the sight, Sathyanarayana immediately contacted a snake removal expert for help. The expert arrived at Sathyanarayana’s home and carefully removed the snakes from inside the air conditioner by hand. This scene was recorded on video. The video attracted attention on social media, garnering over 100,000 views within a day. In the video, the man opens the air conditioner cover, takes out several snakes with one hand, and puts them into a bag.
Netizens who saw the video reacted with comments such as “He must have been really shocked,” “Before buying an air conditioner, you should check if snakes have laid eggs inside,” and “Since snakes can enter air conditioners during cold winters, you should check before turning it on.”
There have been several past cases of snakes being found in air conditioners. According to Thai media last year, a woman named Pueng living in Bangkok requested service due to strange noises whenever she turned on her wall-mounted air conditioner. When the service staff tried to inspect the air conditioner, they noticed a long line beneath it, which turned out to be a snake’s tail. Startled, the staff carefully dismantled the air conditioner and found four snakes tangled inside. It was reported that snakes had been found in this air conditioner before. At that time, Pueng had a regular inspection due to leakage, during which three snakes were also found.
Pueng said, “My bedroom is on the second floor, so I wonder how the snakes got in,” and added, “I lived with the snakes for several months, so I’m curious about what they ate during that time.” She also said, “I feel anxious every time I turn on the air conditioner, so I’m thinking of replacing it.” The species of snakes found in this air conditioner was identified as the golden tree snake, which has mild venom.
In South Korea, there was also a case where a car owner discovered a venomous snake while replacing the car’s air conditioner filter. In 2022, the owner posted a message titled “A snake came out of my car” on an online community. The author, Mr. A, wrote that when he tried to replace the air conditioner filter due to a rotten smell coming from the car’s air conditioner, a snake came out along with the filter.
