"Optimistic Outlook for Growth Despite Uncertainties"

Amid President Donald Trump's announcement of potential car tariffs, Steven Center, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Kia Motors America, expressed the company's intention to focus on production in the United States.

In an interview with Yahoo Finance on the 16th (local time), Center said, "We are not following the business rules; we are doing what we think is right for Kia," adding, "That is to produce as many cars as possible here (in the U.S.)."

He continued, "Tariffs will affect each brand differently depending on where and what is produced," and stated, "We have had numerous meetings over the past few months and have a business plan. We will continue to pursue that plan to benefit our customers and others the most."

He also added, "We want to continue growing in the U.S. market."

Center COO said, "We plan to produce electric vehicles in Georgia," noting, "This was planned before the current tariff discussions arose." He also mentioned that Kia has been in the U.S. for over 30 years and has made significant investments in American manufacturing and supply chains.

Despite uncertainties around tariffs and the possibility of an economic slowdown, Center expressed optimism for growth this year, saying, "We expect the market to be good. If there is no excessive shock to the system, it will be another record-breaking year."
