A new fare plan allowing users to rent Seoul's public bicycle system, Ddareungi, for 3 hours at 3,000 won will be introduced in the second half of this year.
On the 16th, Seoul City announced that it is preparing the system for the introduction of the 3-hour Ddareungi pass in the second half of the year. This fare plan reflects the demand for riding Ddareungi to the outskirts of Seoul on weekends.
Currently, Ddareungi offers only 1-day passes with 1-hour and 2-hour options, as well as passes for 7, 30, 180 days, and 1 year, allowing daily use for 1 to 2 hours.
Starting next month, a family pass will be introduced allowing children under 13 to ride Ddareungi. The family pass enables guardians to use Ddareungi together with their children. After parent identity verification and family verification, a parent can rent up to 5 Ddareungi bikes simultaneously, including themselves. The fare is the same as the existing daily pass: 1,000 won for 1 hour and 2,000 won for 2 hours.
The city has introduced a procedure using the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 'Administrative Information Joint Use System' to verify family relationships. However, there is a limitation in that children without registered parents, such as those in grandparent-headed households, cannot use this service.
