Gyeongsan City to Conduct Intensive Collection Period for Local Tax and Non-Tax Revenue Arrears

Mobilizing All Tax Administration Resources...
Implementing Intensive Collection Measures

Gyeongsan City in North Gyeongsang Province will operate a "2025 First Intensive Collection Period for Local Taxes and Non-Tax Revenue Arrears" for 76 days from the 17th to May 30.

As of the end of February 2025, the amount in arrears stands at 16.6 billion KRW for local taxes and 16.2 billion KRW for non-tax revenue.

During this collection period, the city plans to recover 6.6 billion KRW, which is 40% of the local tax arrears, and 1.6 billion KRW, which is 10% of the non-tax revenue arrears.

The city will encourage voluntary payments by sending out arrears notices and promoting the intensive collection period, while also investigating real estate, vehicles, financial assets, salaries, and accounts receivable to enforce strong collection measures such as seizure, sale, and collection.

In particular, by conducting on-site investigations at addresses and business locations, the city will actively implement installment payments and collection deferments for those with temporary financial difficulties or livelihood-related arrears, and will foster a culture of faithful tax payment by enforcing strict collection for large or habitual delinquent taxpayers.
