Hanam-si Strengthens Regional Field Monitoring System Through Policy Monitoring Team

Hanam City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Hyun-jae) is establishing a field monitoring system by region centered on the Policy Monitoring Group, reflecting citizens' opinions to enhance the effectiveness and momentum of city administration. Through this, they plan to identify problems on-site and derive improvement measures.

According to Hanam City on the 14th, the Policy Monitoring Group held the 2nd regular meeting of 2025 on the 13th in the city hall's large conference room to share the results of field monitoring and discuss policy response directions.


The Policy Monitoring Group operates through subcommittee meetings and regular meetings. Subcommittee meetings are held every even month, where sites and policies requiring field monitoring are selected. At the selected sites, direct monitoring is conducted, and the results are shared at the regular meetings, with recommendations made to the city to reflect them in policies.


At this regular meeting, the Policy Monitoring Group reported on field inspection results including ▲winter operation of the four-season red clay road and resident inconveniences ▲activation plans for Deokpung Sports and Culture Center usage ▲improvements in the operation of Misa Senior Welfare Center ▲transportation policy proposals for the Gam-il area ▲analysis of the effect of connecting Wirye Bus No. 36 to Macheon Station, and conveyed matters requiring improvement to the city.


Additionally, the meeting discussed major city administration issues such as ▲increase in the veterans' honor allowance (from 150,000 KRW/month to 170,000 KRW/month) ▲transportation support for those aged 70 and over (160,000 KRW/year) ▲promotion of abundant cultural performance festivals ▲Hanam-style urban agriculture policy projects.


Furthermore, Hanam City reported on the implementation plans for agenda items received through regional subcommittee meetings at this meeting. Key contents included ▲Gam-il (request for installation of busking stages within the Gam-il region) ▲Wirye (future directions of Hanam City Health and Medical Policy Division) ▲Old Downtown (plans to utilize the lawn plaza at Hanam City Hall as a reading plaza, etc.) ▲Misa (requests for planting hibiscus and hydrangea at Misa Hangang Park, requests for opening a winter skating rink, etc.).


Mayor Lee Hyun-jae said, “I appreciate citizens personally inspecting policy sites and providing constructive opinions,” and added, “I hope the Policy Monitoring Group will continue to join forces to ensure the successful implementation of Hanam City's major policies.”


Meanwhile, the Policy Monitoring Group will strengthen field monitoring by region including Old Downtown, Misa, Gam-il, and Wirye, focusing on enhancing transparency and efficiency in city administration operations, and will actively play a role to ensure the successful implementation of major policies.
