Budget Support from Korea Specialty Contractors Association,
Save the Children Builds Playground and Donates It to the County
Hongseong County, Save the Children, and the Korea Specialty Construction Association signed a business agreement for the creation of a barrier-free integrated playground project.
On the afternoon of the 14th, Hongseong County in Chungnam signed a business agreement with Save the Children and the Korea Specialty Contractors Association to establish the Hongseong Kkumjaram Center "Barrier-Free Inclusive Playground," officially launching the playground construction project.
According to the county, this agreement was promoted to join forces and cooperate in building a barrier-free inclusive playground where children with and without disabilities can play together.
The county plans to actively collect opinions from both children with and without disabilities during the process, begin planning and designing the space, and push forward with the goal of completing the playground by October.
Under the agreement, the Korea Specialty Contractors Association will provide funding for the playground installation, while Save the Children’s Central Region Office will select a specialized company based on its years of experience in building children's playgrounds to carry out the installation.
After the completion of the barrier-free inclusive playground, it will be donated to Hongseong County, and is expected to be widely used as a safe playground for local children.
Lee Yongrok, the governor of Hongseong County, stated, "The barrier-free inclusive playground is a space that equally guarantees the right to play for all children, where children with and without disabilities can come together and nurture their dreams. We will do our best to ensure that children can grow up healthy and strong in a safe environment."
