Damyang County in Jeollanam-do is leading the successful establishment of the Hometown Love Donation Program, now in its third year, by conducting outreach promotional activities centered around the 'Hometown Love Promotion Team' to spread participation.
According to the county on the 14th, the promotion team began visiting local affiliated organizations on the 10th, starting with the Damyang branch of the Korea Rural Community Corporation, to inform executives and staff about the Hometown Love Donation Program.
In particular, the team focused on promoting the return gifts and preferential benefits, and secured active cooperation for setting up promotional booths inside and outside the offices. They also promoted key county policies and projects, and discussed ways for organizations to participate and collaborate.
By the end of this month, the county plans to continue these promotional visits to 16 organizations, including the Damyang Office of Education, Damyang Fire Station, and the Damyang branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation. The county will also promote the program at local community group events and meetings. Additionally, they plan to visit local agricultural and industrial complexes, companies, and factories to continue their promotional efforts.
A county official stated, "Considering that donations tend to concentrate at the end of the year, we plan to promote and foster a culture of giving from the beginning of the year." The official added, "We will make further efforts to expand the selection of return gifts and strengthen the recognition for donors."
Meanwhile, the 'Hometown Love Promotion Team' was launched in November 2022, ahead of the program's implementation, consisting of 16 local affiliated organizations and 28 community groups. The team is leading joint efforts for regional development, such as revitalizing the Hometown Love Donation Program and the Damyang Love Address Campaign.
