Up to 3.5 Million KRW in Support
for Young People Completing the Program
Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Park Hongryul) announced on the 14th that it has been selected for the Ministry of Employment and Labor's public contest project, the "Youth Challenge Support Project," for the fifth consecutive year and has begun recruiting participants.
The Youth Challenge Support Project is a program designed to motivate young people who have given up on job searching by providing customized programs, thereby encouraging their participation in the labor market and promoting employment. This year's project will be implemented by the Mokpo Youth and Employment Integration Center, which was selected as an "Excellent Institution" in the 2024 operational performance evaluation.
The target participants are young people aged 18 to 34 who have not been employed, educated, or participated in vocational training for more than six months and scored 21 points or higher on the questionnaire, or young people under the age of 45 who are recognized as needing support.
Participants who complete the program will receive an allowance and incentives ranging from 500,000 KRW up to 3,000,000 KRW depending on the participation period. In addition, those who find employment within six months of completing the program and remain employed for at least three months will receive an additional employment incentive of 500,000 KRW.
The short-term program consists of intensive counseling, case management, career exploration, and job competency enhancement programs. The mid- to long-term program expands on the short-term program by adding external networking activities and project-based autonomous activities.
Furthermore, since 2021, the "Peer Support Group," composed of graduates who have participated in the Youth Challenge Support Project and found employment in various fields, will share concerns and employment challenges with young people and provide mentoring from current professionals.
Recruitment will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget is exhausted. Applications can be submitted via the Employment24 website or by email to the Mokpo Youth and Employment Integration Center. For more information, please contact the Mokpo Youth and Employment Integration Center.
Mayor Park Hongryul stated, "Through the Youth Challenge Support Project, we will provide customized programs for young people who have given up on job searching to help them succeed in employment and revitalize the local youth community."
