Busan Gijang County Holds 'SNS Quiz Event' to Celebrate 30th Anniversary of Restoration

Gijang-gun, Busan (Governor Jeong Jongbok) is holding an ‘SNS Quiz Event’ to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the restoration of the county status.

This event has been organized to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the restoration together with the residents and to widely promote Gijang-gun, which has achieved remarkable growth since the restoration.

The event will be held for five days from March 17 to 21. It will take place on five official Gijang-gun SNS channels: ▲Naver Blog ▲Instagram ▲Facebook ▲Twitter ▲KakaoTalk Channel. The county will select 30 winners by lottery and present each with a 10,000 KRW Naver Pay gift certificate.

To participate, follow or like one of the five official Gijang-gun SNS channels, leave a congratulatory message celebrating the 30th anniversary in the comments, and then submit a screenshot of your participation along with the correct answer via Google Forms.

A county official said, “We hope this event will be an opportunity to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the restoration of Gijang-gun together with our residents and to reflect on its significance. We ask for your enthusiastic participation.” The official also added, “We hope you will show great interest in the official SNS channels, where you can find a variety of content about key county policies, projects, events, festivals, and local attractions.”

Gijang-gun marked the ‘30th Anniversary of the Restoration of Gijang-gun’ on March 1.

The county was known as ‘Gijang’ since the Unified Silla period, but was incorporated into Dongnae-gun during the Japanese colonial period in 1914, and after liberation, was merged with Yangsan-gun in 1973. Later, after serving as the Eastern Branch Office of Yangsan-gun, it was incorporated into Busan City through an administrative district reorganization on March 1, 1995, finally regaining the name ‘Gijang’ after 81 years.

This year, under the slogan ‘Beyond 30 Years, Gijang Leaps Forward Again,’ the county will hold various events throughout the year to commemorate Gijang’s remarkable achievements made together with its residents and to foster local pride.
