The county pursued the designation of honorary road names to strengthen the region's identity and enhance residents' pride by shedding new light on local figures and history. Prior to this, the county established a plan for granting honorary road names and collected residents' opinions, and on the 13th, the proposal was reviewed by the Jinan County Address Information Committee.
"Yonguigil" in Yongdam-myeon symbolically expresses a message of hope, inspired by the shape of Yongdam Dam's reservoir, which resembles a dragon. It conveys the idea of overcoming the pain of submersion and turning it into an opportunity for regional development by receiving the energy of the dragon. In addition, to promote Jinan as a gateway to achieving aspirations such as promotion, success, and passing exams?qualities associated with dragons?the honorary road name "Yonguigil" was designated for a section of Anyong-ro in Yongdam-myeon.
"Han Seungheon-ro" in Ancheonn-myeon was designated as an honorary road name for a section of Jinmu-ro to commemorate Han Seungheon, the "No. 1 lawyer for state affairs cases," who was buried at the May 18th National Cemetery in 2022. It aims to honor his journey along the path of democracy and leave his life as a model and guide for many.
A county official stated, "We expect that the designation of these honorary road names will help promote local figures and history, thereby enhancing the county's brand value."
