The ‘Gyeonggi Shared School Credit Recognition Type’ is an out-of-school education program that opens subjects difficult to organize within schools through community cooperation and recognizes credits.
Through this, students can select subjects that match their interests and career paths at various community institutions and complete these subjects to gain broad educational experiences.
Expanding learning choices and providing customized educational opportunities, the ‘Gyeonggi Shared School Credit Recognition Type’ was piloted last year and will open 13 subjects in 9 education support offices this year.
The subjects offered include ▲General Aviation ▲Pet Care ▲Police Studies ▲Video Production ▲Semiconductor Manufacturing ▲Western Cooking ▲AI-based Biology ▲Cartoon Production, among others.
Additionally, evaluations and grade processing appropriate to the subjects will be conducted, and attendance and credit completion will be systematically managed through the Gyeonggi Shared School online system.
After completion, objective educational content will be entered into the ‘Detailed Abilities and Special Notes by Subject’ section of the school life record. In particular, starting this year, in addition to the subject name and credits earned, objective learning content will also be recorded, which is expected to more systematically reflect students’ learning experiences.
The education support offices currently operating the credit recognition type are ▲Goyang ▲Guri·Namyangju ▲Gimpo ▲Bucheon ▲Seongnam ▲Ansan ▲Yongin ▲Icheon ▲Uijeongbu, totaling nine, with plans to expand to all education support offices in the future.
The Provincial Office of Education plans to actively support the successful establishment of the ‘Gyeonggi Shared School Credit Recognition Type’ to expand public education and strengthen the public responsibility of Gyeonggi’s future education.
