Shinsung ENG Expands Data Center Business by Partnering with DataBin

Sinsung ENG is entering the data center market by partnering with a domestic startup.

On the 14th, Sinsung ENG announced that it has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Databin, a data center cooling solution company that possesses Immersion Cooling technology. The memorandum of understanding was signed at Sinsung ENG's headquarters in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, and they plan to actively pursue research and development and business cooperation to improve energy efficiency and optimize operations of data center infrastructure.

Through this collaboration, they plan to jointly develop technology that maximizes cooling efficiency of data centers and respond to the rapidly increasing demand for energy savings and carbon reduction.

Sinsung ENG is pursuing a business strategy to optimize technologies accumulated in the semiconductor, display, and secondary battery industries for data center environments. By combining Databin's Immersion Cooling technology, they aim to develop differentiated cooling solutions and expand their presence in the global data center market in the long term.

Immersion Cooling is a method that directly cools semiconductor chips using cooling liquids, expected to achieve energy savings of over 50% compared to conventional air cooling. It reduces the complexity of air conditioning systems and increases space utilization in data centers, thus being evaluated as having superior power efficiency and sustainability compared to existing cooling methods.

Jiseon Lee, CEO of Sinsung ENG, said, "The data center market is explosively growing due to the spread of AI and cloud," and added, "Based on cleanroom air conditioning systems for semiconductors and secondary batteries and precise temperature and humidity control technology, we will secure various technologies for optimizing data center infrastructure together with Databin."

She continued, "Through this cooperation, we will enhance cooling efficiency and strengthen competitiveness in the rapidly growing AI and cloud data center market," emphasizing, "We will secure differentiated technological competitiveness for building sustainable infrastructure in data center environments where energy savings are crucial."

Databin CEO Sooyong Kim explained, "The sustainability and operational efficiency of data center infrastructure have become important challenges worldwide," and added, "Together with Sinsung ENG, we will advance next-generation cooling technology and respond to the industry's demands for energy savings and carbon reduction."
